Hattie recommends using fine cottons for the lampshades, as this allows the light to shine through nicely. Because you don’t need to pretreat your fabric for the lampshade it is fine to arrive a little earlier to pick out your cloth downstairs. As Indian cottons are usually narrow at about 110cm, you will need to buy 150cm’s.
