HOUSE is a new Merchant & Mills shop, full of beautiful things that are ready to take home. A collection of exquisite home textiles and complimentary curations for a considered home with a handmade touch.

In 2021 we purchased an old Victorian house to accommodate our sewing retreat students. Renovating The Grove created a space for our love and knowledge of textiles to flourish and grow and the house was made a home by a family of ideas and objects. It’s these that have formed the basis of our new shop.

We change our clothes often, but dressing a home is slower and more considered. As makers we do ‘considered’ well. A respect for the human hand and the journey of the fibres is present in every HOUSE product.

Just as Merchant & Mills aims to continue the tradition of generational skills, we hope that you’ll treasure and pass down the items you take home from HOUSE.

Trains from London St Pancras Int leave every hour, you will need to change at Ashford International, getting you to Rye in 1 hour and 20 minutes. We are a 10 minute walk from the train station. When walking out of the station walk straight ahead until you reach Cinque Port Street, turn left, cross Rope Walk and we are on the corner.

Rye is on the A259. There are several pay and display car parks in Rye, and a couple of spaces outside the shop too.
