Description:

A deep indigo handloom twill, stripes of white with a wine red selvedge.

This cloth would be perfect for trousers, dungarees and jackets. We would make an Foreman jacket or a Jack Tar bag.

78cm wide.
100% cotton.
10.5oz, 360gsm.
Allow for 3% shrinkage when washing.
The stripe runs parallel to the selvedge.
Country of origin; India.
As our Indian cloths are handmade, sometimes susceptible to irregularities in the weave or print, this is all part of their charm and are not classed as flaws.
As all computer monitors show colours differently, we recommend ordering a sample of the cloth to check it is the right colour and weight for your project.

Washing Instructions

We recommend pre washing your fabric before sewing. Putting a large piece of medium-heavy weight cloth into the washing machine can sometimes lead to white creases in the fabric, this is because it is a stiff fabric so it doesn’t have room to move around. We recommend doing the following to help this not to happen:

Wash your fabric on its own for the first wash with a handful of table salt. This will help fix the dye to prevent it running..
Sink your fabric in water before hand, letting it fully absorb, so you are putting in the cloth already wet.
If you can break up your fabric into half this will help.
For the first wash use a delicate 30 degree cycle with a low spin.
If any white creases develop ironing whilst still damp will help.
Do not tumble dry.

When you have made the garment we would recommend washing it inside out.
