Description:

The Factotum tutorial is as near as we can bring you to attending an actual course but at a fraction of the cost! Filled to the brim with detailed demonstration and dotted with intuitive pause points, the Factotum Tutorial is your best friend when making the Factotum bag. Watch the trailer for a taster.

A neat cross body bag, small but copious. Factotum has been designed to hold all your daily essentials. Fully lined, with two front pockets and a zipped closure. You can use leather or webbing for your strap.

Once purchased you will be emailed a unique login to the Merchant & Mills PRIVATE VIEWING ROOM where you can view the full video at your leisure. You will be able to return there anytime to reiterate, refresh or review what you’ve learned.

Finished measurements length 20cm, width 30cm, depth at widest point 12cm.

Please note you receive the PDF for free as part of the course. If you would like the paper pattern you will need to add this to your basket seperately.

All seam allowances are 1cm unless otherwise stated.

Skill level - intermediate.

Fabric suggestions - Oilskin, dry oilskin, mid-heavy weight cotton canvas or drill, mid weight denim (8-14oz). For the lining we would suggest using either our 5oz organic dry oilskin, half panama cotton, or barrier lining. You can see all of these by clicking on the suitable fabrics tab.

You will need

Matching thread

Leather strap - 2.5cm x 98cm (View 1)

Webbing - 2.5cm x 98cm (view 2)

Rivets - 4 x 9mm

Loops - 2 x 2.5cm

Zip - 1 x 30cm

When inserting the rivets we recommend using a very solid surface like a cement floor so there is no movement.

For the loops we have two options, these or these. The 1" ones offer a snug fit and the 1.25" ones allow for a bit more movement, it's a personal preference.
