This is a PDF pattern that will give you the relevant pattern pieces to make the Fielder Top short sleeved with a higher neckline. We think this makes a great winter T Shirt in wool.

Please note you have to already have the Fielder pattern in order to make this, these are just the additional pattern pieces.

All seam allowances are 1cm unless otherwise stated.

Skill level - advanced beginner.

Fabric suggestions - 185 linen, linen wool blend, yarn dyed linen, tencel/linen, soft cotton, needlecord, hemp/cotton blends, jacquard cotton, 5oz denim, light flannel or crepe.

Paper vs PDF

If you order a paper copy you will be sent a printed version of our pattern. If you select PDF you are purchasing a digital file. You will be able to download your digital files five times. We recommend that you save your files so that you have them forever. PDF's will include a tiled, an A0 copy shop file and your instructions. The tiled file can be used on any home printer, and is compatible with both A4 and US letter paper. You just need to print out the sheets and stick them together following the guide. Alternatively you can send off the copy shop file to be printed full size; we can usually recommend someone in your area. If you are in the UK we would recommend either The Fold Line or Net Printer. The instructions can either be printed at home or simply follow along on your computer or phone.

You will need

Matching thread.

Stay tape - 20-30cm approx 5mm wide.

Pocket bags can be cut in self or lining fabric.

We offer two different types of ribbing. One is tubular and cut by the metre, available in black or white. For this you will need the following: Dress all sizes - 0.25M. Top sizes 6 - 14 - 0.40M. Top sizes 16 - 18 - 0.45M.

The other type that we offer is ribbing strips which are sold in cut pieces, you can view them here. As these are cut lengths you need to buy the right quantity depending on your size and whether you are making the top or dress. We have made this table to show what you'll need:

  Top   Dress
Size 6 2 1
Size 8 2 1
Size 10   2 1
Size 12 3 1
Size 14 3 2
Size 16 3 2
Size 18 3 2
Fabrics Pictured (from left to right)

Melodie (brown hair) is wearing the Fielder made from Sergeant boiled wool and the Tonje ribbing. Melodie is a size 8 normally, but this sample is a 12. If you choose to make this out of boiled wool we would recommend sizing up as it takes up a lot of room!

Michelle is wearing a Fielder made from Tencel Denim. This is a fairly lightweight cloth so she is wearing her normal size 12.

The quilted top is made from our Shadow Jacquard Cotton and Ice and Cream Rib.
