Ajrakh Indian Block Print Organic Cotton

A hand block printed red kala cotton with a natural stripe that runs parallel to the selvedge. Please note where this cloth is hand dyed the is variations in the stripe and as stated below it is recommened to use salt when washing to prevent bleeding of the dye into the stripes.

This cloth would make beautiful skirts, dresses, tops, shirts and lightweight trousers. It would also be suitable for curtains or cushions. On The Road Red would make a lovely Honey dress or top.

• Indian handlooms are sometimes susceptible to irregularities in the weave due to their handmade nature, this is all part of their charm and are not classed as flaws.
• For the first couple of washes, place the fabric in the washing machine drum at 30 or 40 degrees with a handful of table salt. This will help fix the dye to prevent it running.
• Wash at 30 or 40 degrees with a non bio detergent. Do not tumble.
• As all computer monitors show colours differently, we recommend ordering a sample of the cloth to check it is the right colour and weight for your project.
