Brexit Information for EU Customers:
All fees are included at the checkout so you won’t need to pay anything additional your end. Please note couriers are still experiencing delays so please be aware things can take longer than the stated delivery time.
Fabric Ordering:
Fabric can be ordered in 10cm increments. The minimum order is half a metre.
Fabric Samples:
Samples can be ordered on the individual fabric pages, under the ‘buy’ tab. Samples are 50p each with free shipping anywhere in the world. Please note that if you have an old sample, it would be worth ordering a new sample as the fabric dye batched can alter slightly over time.
Student Discount:
We offer a 10% discount for students. Please email a picture of your student card to [email protected] and we will set you up a discount code. Students cannot receive 10% off on classes or remnants. Please note we need to see an expiry date of your course.
Thread:
Where we offer matching thread, this is always Gutermann Sew All thread, 100m.
PDF Products:
I’m afraid we cannot offer refunds on PDF products.
Fabric Orders on Rolls:
You can request to have your fabric put on a roll, however there is a £20 charge for this within the UK and Europe.
Delivery:
At the moment we are unable to ship physical products to Russia.
When you enter your postcode/zip at the checkout your postage will be automatically calculated for you.
UK – DPD courier, 1 – 5 working days, £4.95. DPD courier, Next day by noon, £15.
Samples – sent by 1st class post, free delivery. (not tracked post)
Northern Ireland and Scottish Highlands & Islands – DPD courier 2 – 5 working days, £15.
Guernsey & Jersey – DHL courier, 5 – 7 working days, £14.
Europe – DHL courier, approximately 1 – 5 working days, £20. If you want your order sent to your work address you will need to enter that business’ EORI number at the checkout. If they don’t have an EORI number we suggest getting your order delivered to a residential address.
USA – DHL courier, 2 – 3 working days, £22.50.
Canada – FedEx 5 – 7 working days, £30
China, Indonesia, Japan, North Korea, Phillippines, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, Australia, New Zealand, Fiji – DHL courier, 5 – 7 working days, £35.
Any country not mentioned shipping is DHL courier, 5 – 7 working days, £22.50.
All our postage options are fully trackable and you will always be sent a tracking number. Please ensure you enter your email address at the checkout.
Your order will be sent to the address you have entered under ‘shipping address.’ We will endeavor to spot mistakes but we cannot be held responsible for missing parcels due to address errors. If a parcel is returned to us as undeliverable due to your address error we can re send your item but there will be an additional delivery charge.
Taxes & Duties:
If your order is being delivered outside of the European Community (EC), please be aware you may have to pay your countries import duty or other taxes. This is not the responsibility of Merchant & Mills. If you decide to refuse delivery because you do not want to pay these charges, the courier ‘return to sender’ fee will be deducted off your refund when the order makes it back to us. Generally couriers charge high fees for returning parcels to sender.
Returns:
We do not accept returns on any cut fabric or trims as these are bespoke orders. This does not affect your statutory rights.
Gifts and notions can be returned at your shipping cost. These must be in a resalable condition – unopened and unused. Items must be returned within 7 days of receipt of your order. See below details of how to return items.
Scissor Returns:
Scissors can be exchanged or refunded at your shipping cost. Items must be returned within 7 days of receipt of your order. These must be unused – if they have visibly been used we won’t be able to refund you.
If you feel like your scissors are faulty please email [email protected] with a description and photos if necessary. Scissors are very accurately set at the factory to ensure the perfect cut, if you interfere with the bolt at all this will ruin the setting and we won’t be able to help you. Please email us with the fault before trying to fix it yourself.
Please note we no longer offer a re sharpening/ scissor refurbishment option on our scissors.
Damaged items:
We cannot accept returns on cut or washed fabric. Please check your fabric carefully for faults before proceeding with cutting and sewing.
If you do find a fault with your fabric before cutting or you have received damaged or faulty goods, please notify us by phone or email within 7 working days of receipt of your order.

Where possible we will try and replace your cloth or goods, if this is not possible we will issue a full refund including shipping costs. You will be refunded by the original method of payment, either by paypal or debit/credit card. We do not offer credit notes.
We will reimburse any delivery costs you incur returning the item to us. Please retain proof of postage. Please try and include your original packing slip with your return. We will need your full name, delivery address, phone number, email address, and order number to process your return.

Change of Heart/Unwanted Gifts:
If you have a change of heart or have received a gift you’d like to exchange we are happy to do this. This must be done within 7 days of purchase with a receipt. Only applicable on gifts and notions that have been purchased on our website or in our Rye shop. You are responsible for return shipping costs and shipping costs will be added to your item.
