Description:

Our newest pattern collaboration with Francli Craftwear.  Ali from Francli Craftwear designs bags that are crafted with care, chosen with consideration and used for a lifetime. 

The perfect pack for weekend adventures. The Weekender comes in two sizes, small and large. The large being more of a weekend trip bag and the small could be more of an everyday or overnight option. Both options have a lining with a pocket inside and a pocket outside. 

We have chosen to use water repellent zips for this make, which come in 3 colours, sand, fern and black, each with the option of a matching g hook. You can also just use standard zips. 

We have laser cut leather tabs here that can be used, or if you happen to have leather scraps at home a template has been included for you to use. 

All seam allowances are 1cm unless otherwise stated.

Skill level - intermediate.

Fabric Suggestions:

Self - oilskin, dry oilskin, mid-heavy weight cotton canvas or drill, mid-heavy weight denim (8-14oz). 

Base - heavyweight canvas, duck canvas, expedition dry oilskin, oilskin. 

Lining - mid weight cottons and denim, barrier lining (if using dry oilskin, or oilskin). 

We have put together a kit of all the hardware you will need to make this bag which can be found here: Fern or Sand.

Paper vs PDF

If you order a paper copy you will be sent a printed version of our pattern. If you select PDF, you are purchasing a digital file which will be stored on your account to be downloaded at any time. PDF's will include a tiled, an A0 copy shop file and your instructions. The tiled file can be used on any home printer and stuck together and is compatible with both A4 and US letter paper. Alternatively, you can send off the copy shop file to be printed full size; we can usually recommend someone in your area. If you are in the UK, we would recommend The Fold Line. The instructions can either be printed at home or simply follow along on your computer or phone.

2x Leather tabs or leather remnant (10cm/4" x 6cm/22")

2x Rivets.

Large Holdall: 

- 272cm/107" x 30mm/14" webbing

- 70cm/27.5" x 25mm/1" webbing.

- 1x 22cm/10" finished zip & 1x 70cm/38" finished zip OR 2x continuous zips, 1 cut to 29cm/11.5" & 1 cut to 74cm/29".


Small Holdall:

- 218cm/86" x 30mm/14" webbing

- 64cm/25.5" x 25mm/14" webbing 

- 1x 20cm/8" finished zip & 1x 52cm/20" finished zip OR 2x continuous zizs, 1 cut to 24cm/9.5" & 1 cut to 65cm/22".
