Extra Weft Handwoven Cotton

A unique handcrafted Kala cotton in a soft nutmeg brown with flowers woven through using extra weft technique. The flowers are yellow and white which matches the stripes making up the selvedge. Extra weft is where additional weft yarns in contrasting colours, are woven through to create a motif. This yarn is woven in with the structural yarns.

This cloth would make beautiful skirts, dresses, tops and shirts. It would also be suitable for lightweight curtains.

• Indian handlooms are sometimes susceptible to irregularities in the weave due to their handmade nature, this is all part of their charm and are not classed as flaws.
• Please note that the motif is not visible on both sides.
• For the first couple of washes, place the fabric in the washing machine drum at 30 or 40 degrees with a handful of table salt. This will help fix the dye to prevent it running.
• Wash at 30 or 40 degrees with a non bio detergent. Do not tumble.
• As all computer monitors show colours differently, we recommend ordering a sample of the cloth to check it is the right colour and weight for your project.
