A unique handcrafted cloth woven in a natural undyed Kala cotton with a Tangaliya dot motif in burgundy. Tangaliya is a weaving technique that gives the effect of beadlike embroidery. It is created using threads twisted round the weft of the yarn.

Kala cotton is a purely rain fed cotton indigenous to the kachchh region of India. It is grown in a sustainable way due to the resilient nature of the plant, the use of pesticides or synthetic fertilizers are not needed. It forms a strong and coarse fibre that produces a uniquely textured cloth.

This cloth would make beautiful skirts, dresses, tops and shirts. It would also be suitable for lightweight curtains.

  • 3.75oz, 127gsm.
  • 110cm wide.
  • 100% cotton.
  • Country of origin; India.
  • Indian handlooms are sometimes susceptible to irregularities in the weave due to their handmade nature, this is all part of their charm and are not classed as flaws.
  • For the first couple of washes, place the fabric in the washing machine drum at 30 or 40 degrees with a handful of table salt. This will help fix the dye to prevent it running.
  • As all computer monitors show colours differently, we recommend ordering a sample of the cloth to check it is the right colour and weight for your project.
  • Thread match Gutermann Sew All: 299.
