Description:

Ecru denim that has been pre shrunk. Ideal for dyeing, lining, bag making or using for toiling.

  • 152cm wide.
  • 11.5oz, 393gsm.
  • 100% cotton.
  • Wash at 30 /40 degrees.
  • This cotton is Oeko-Tex certified.
  • For the first couple of washes, place the fabric in the washing machine drum at 30 or 40 degrees with a handful of table salt. This will help fix the dye to prevent it running.
  • As all computer monitors show colours differently, we recommend ordering a sample of the cloth to check it is the right colour and weight for your project.
  • Thread match Gutermann Sew All 802.

Washing Instructions

We recommend pre washing your fabric before sewing. Putting a large piece of medium-heavy weight cloth into the washing machine can sometimes lead to white creases in the fabric, this is because it is a stiff fabric so it doesn’t have room to move around. We recommend doing the following to help this not to happen:

  • Wash your fabric on its own for the first wash.
  • Sink your fabric  in water before hand, letting it fully absorb, so you are putting in the cloth already wet.
  • If you can break up your fabric into half this will help.
  • For the first wash use a delicate 30 degree cycle with a low spin.
  • If any white creases develop ironing whilst still damp will help.
  • Do not tumble dry.

When you have made the garment we would recommend washing it inside out.

Bunny and Warwick

These are two of our resident pups Bunny and Warwick sitting like such good doggies on their new bed.

It’s hard to find a good looking dog bed – and these are so simple to make and you can custom make to the size of your pup. We used our Ecru Denim for the base and our Carolina linen for the top. And the little ties are made from Sunnyside linen.

We bought a square feather cushion, removed some of the feathers, mitred all four corners. The cover is made like a normal cushion cover but with the four corners mitred and then we used some hand stitches with tough thread to create the quilted look. The little ties are stitched on and are purely decorative. Depending how much of a pest your dog is they may use these ties as their new chewing toy!!
