Harlene Hack – Men’s Version

Connor works in our warehouse and he does such a stellar job we thought he deserved some Harlene dungarees. We’ve been asked a fair bit how to alter the pattern for a man, this is what we did for Connor based on his measurements. We did a toile to asses fit first, which we would recommend doing.

Connor’s sample is made in our 8oz Organic Sanded Twill in Ironmonger Tan, along with the Harlene Hardware Kit.

Other good fabric options would be the Utility Tan, the 12oz Organic Twill range, or a medium weight denim like Maison 11oz.

The Harlene is available as a PDF and paper in sizes 6 – 28.

For reference these are Connor’s measurements –

Hip 111cm, Waist 103cm, Inside leg 79cm and is 6ft 2. We started with a size 14 and made the below adjustments.

See below images for step by step instructions on how to alter your pattern. It is easier to make adjustments with this hack by tracing off the front and back leg pattern pieces. Once the adjustments have been made and the fabric has been cut out sew them together as per instructions.
