A bold handcrafted Kala cotton with multicoloured spot. This print was created using the Ajrakh process which is a traditional form of block printing using vegetable and mineral resist dyes.
Kala cotton is a purely rain fed cotton indigenous to the kachchh region of India. It is grown in a sustainable way due to the resilient nature of the plant, the use of pesticides or synthetic fertilizers are not needed. It forms a strong and coarse fibre that produces a uniquely textured cloth.
This cloth would make beautiful skirts, dresses, tops and shirts. It would also be suitable for lightweight curtains.
This cloth has been discounted by 10% - the blue spots have some ink residue from the printing process which can be seen in the last two images.

- For the first couple of washes, place the fabric in the washing machine drum at 30 or 40 degrees with a handful of table salt. This will help fix the dye to prevent it running.
- As all computer monitors show colours differently, we recommend ordering a sample of the cloth to check it is the right colour and weight for your project.
