Check Jacquard Linen Albers
Description
This linen is produced in small batches in Eastern Europe where there is a strong heritage of spinning and weaving linen fabric.
An unusual jacquard linen in a colourful geometric design of orange, brown, yellow and blue. Designed in house these linens were inspired by the shapes and colours of mid century design. It would make great dresses and shirts but would also work well around the home as cushion covers, quilt toppers etc. We recommend using a smaller stitch length for this linen because of the weave being more open weave.
Jacquard linen is not for the faint hearted. It is a beautiful unique cloth but requires careful handling. It is a double gauze so will want to fray, wobble and the pattern matching will add another complexity, so we suggest this cloth is for the very experienced maker.
- 100% linen.
- 152cm wide.
- 6.4oz, 217gsm.
- Pattern repeat: 12.2cm.
- Wash at 30 degrees with a non bio detergent. Do not tumble. Shake out and dry flat. Linen will always seize up after washing but as soon as you start to use/wear it the fibres relax again.
- If you are using this linen for curtains we recommend using a lining to prevent fading.
- Never dry linen in direct sunlight as the colour can bleach and fade.
- Made using AZO-free dyes.
- OKEO-TEX certified.
- As all computer monitors show colours differently, we recommend ordering a sample of the cloth to check it is the right colour and weight for your project.
- Thread match Gutermann Sew All 847.
