- Fabric for The Joa Gilet
Fabric for The Joa Gilet
Fabric suggestions for our new sewing pattern: The Joa Gilet. Joa is a simple, lined wrap top with ties at the side. Choose to make it quilted or not. Wear on its own or layer it up in the colder months as a gilet.
This pattern includes instructions for quilting your own fabric or you can use any of our pre-quilted Indian Cottons or layered cotton jacquards. Lightweight cottons and blends will work beautifully if you’re quilting your own fabric. For the non-quilted version you can use denim, midweight canvas, corduroy or wool and line with a contrasting cotton or blend. Find suggestions for all of these variations below.
This is a quick and satisfying make suitable for an advanced beginner. It also makes a great introduction to quilting for those new to the craft.
