European Laundered Linen Gingham Mrs Lewes
Description
European laundered linen, tumbled at the mill for softness. This linen is yarn dyed, meaning the yarns are dyed before being woven. This linen is produced in small batches in Eastern Europe where there is a strong heritage of spinning and weaving linen fabric.
Black and natural gingham. Suitable for dresses, tops and slouchy jackets. Would make a fine Ellis dress.
Suitable for the Throw, Pillow and Bolster cushion patterns in our Sewing Book as pictured in gallery. We have more colour ways in this check, to see these click on the ‘Alternatives’ tab.
Please note if you have purchased this design before, this batch is a slightly different weave structure. The yarns and colours are exactly the same but the weave is slightly more open. There is very little difference. The price has been adjusted to reflect this.
- 145cm wide.
- 4.5oz, 155gsm.
- 100% linen.
- Pattern repeat 2.5cm.
- Square size 1.25cm.
- Wash at 30 degrees with a non bio detergent. Do not tumble. Shake out and dry flat. Linen will always seize up after washing but as soon as you start to use/wear it the fibres relax again.
- If you are using this linen for curtains we recommend using a lining to prevent fading.
- Never dry linen in direct sunlight as the colour can bleach and fade.
- Made using AZO-free dyes.
- As all computer monitors show colours differently, we recommend ordering a sample of the cloth to check it is the right colour and weight for your project.
- Thread match Gutermann Sew All 633.
Sandra and Sophie are wearing a Mathilde skirt made from Mrs Lewes.
