Salary / Rate: £24,784 raising to £26,227.50pa after 6 month probation
Contracted Hours: Full time, 37.5 hours per week (mon – fri)
Note we would consider part time hours for the right candidate.

Your Responsibilities
Merchant & Mills, a market-leading retailer/wholesaler of fabric, haberdashery, and dressmaking patterns is looking for a Full Time Fulfilment Assistant. We operate from a purpose-built warehouse on Rye Industrial Estate – this is where our office team work as well as where all the orders get dispatched from. We also have a fabric shop in the centre of Rye. We ideally would like someone with sewing knowledge as you can then work one of your days in the shop, but this isn’t essential. If you don’t have any sewing knowledge then you would work your full 5 days at the warehouse in dispatch.

Your duties will include:

• Cutting and folding fabric orders, with speed and precision.
• Gathering and collating all items for orders accurately.
• Booking out orders with couriers, preparing documents.
• Taking in deliveries from our warehouse.
• Working in our shop assisting customers, cutting cloth, advising on fabric suitability for our patterns. (As explained above, depending on the candidate).
  

About You:

• Positive can do attitude with an abundance of energy!
• A familiarity of our brand is desirable.
• A familiarity with fabrics is desirable.
• You’ll need to be able to lift heavy rolls and boxes.
• Basic computer skills.
• Ability to multi task, work well in a team and take direction well.
• Experience working in online dispatch is a desirable, but not essential.
  
  

Our Hiring Process
We normally ask potential candidates to come into the warehouse for a paid trial day. This gives you a real feel for the role and allows us to assess your suitability. If successful, full training will be provided.
