Description:

A neat cross body bag, small but copious. Factotum has been designed to hold all your daily essentials. Fully lined, with two front pockets and a zipped closure. You can use leather or webbing for your strap.

Finished measurements length 20cm, width 30cm, depth at widest point 12cm.

All seam allowances are 1cm unless otherwise stated.

Skill level - intermediate.

This PDF pattern is made up of 1 A0 page and 15 A4 pages.

Fabric suggestions - oilskin, dry oilskin, mid-heavy weight cotton canvas or drill, mid weight denim (8-14oz). For the lining we would suggest using either our organic dry oilskin, half panama cotton, or barrier lining. You can see all of these by clicking on the suitable fabrics tab.

We have an online class with a step by step guide on how to make the Factotum which can be purchased here.

Paper vs PDF

If you order a paper copy you will be sent a printed version of our pattern. If you select PDF, you are purchasing a digital file which will be stored on your account to be downloaded at any time. PDF's will include a tiled, an A0 copy shop file and your instructions. The tiled file can be used on any home printer and stuck together and is compatible with both A4 and US letter paper. Alternatively, you can send off the copy shop file to be printed full size; we can usually recommend someone in your area. If you are in the UK, we would recommend The Fold Line. The instructions can either be printed at home or simply follow along on your computer or phone.

You will need

Matching thread

Leather strap - 2.5cm x 98cm (View 1)

Webbing - 2.5cm x 98cm (view 2)

Rivets - 4 x 9mm

Loops - 2 x 2.5cm

Zip - 1 x 30cm

When inserting the rivets we recommend using a very solid surface like a cement floor so there is no movement.

For the loops we have two options, these or these. The 1" ones offer a snug fit and the 1.25" ones allow for a bit more movement, it's a personal preference.
